Nebraska Moves on to Championship Game in Crown After Victory Over Boise State

Nebraska had another good game in Vegas. This time beating the Boise State Broncos. It was the first time these two teams have ever faced off, with Nebraska ultimately getting the win. The Huskers won by a score of 79 to 69.

The first half did not start out how the Huskers hoped it would. We came out sluggish and discombobulated for a majority of the first half. At one point, the Huskers went on an almost 7-minute scoring drought. However, we were able to take control near the end of the half going on a 20-7 run. At halftime, we led by a score of. 39-33.

The second half started out great for us with Nebraska going on a 7-2 run. This brought our lead up to 15 before the Broncos scored eight in a row. Fortunately for us, we were able to carry over the momentum we got in the first half which helped us get this victory.

This was an impressive win for our team.  Although it didn’t start out the best for us, we were able to adjust and flip the script. Offensively Nebraska had a pretty productive day shooting 46.4%. We excelled in the three-point category making 12 of our 19 shots. Forward Juwan Gary lead our team in scoring with 21 total points. This was a great performance from him, which will hopefully carry over into tomorrow’s game. Defensively, the Big Red did a great job defending the Broncos’ biggs and not letting them go on big runs. I was very impressed with this performance and the effort this team showed. Even though the Huskers got down early, we did not let this stop us and fought our way back into it. We displayed our toughness and showed that we have a lot of fight. One area we can improve in for our next game is getting off to a fast start. We sometimes struggle to do this, and I believe that if we want to win tomorrow this will be a key factor to us doing so. Nebraska will face UCF in the crown championship this afternoon. Tip off is set for 4:30 PM.
