Nebraska Moves on to Semifinals in the Crown After Win Over Georgetown

It was another good start for our Huskers in the Crown. This time, we played the Georgetown Hoyas. It was the first ever match up between these two schools and fortunately for us, it went our way. We won by a score of 81 to 69.

The first half started out pretty good for Nebraska, making baskets and doing a great job defending Georgetown. The Huskers were able to go on a few runs, which helped give us momentum. These runs included a couple of 7-0 runs, which gave us the advantage. Georgetown had a hard time making baskets which helped give us a pretty good lead at halftime. At halftime, we lead by a score of 34 to 24.

The second half was a little closer than Nebraska may have wanted it to be at times. At one point, the Huskers were up by 19 but with about 16 minutes left in the game, the Hoyas were able to claw their way back in it. They were able to cut the deficit to as low as eight at one point, but Nebraska was ultimately able to prevail and came out victorious.

This was a great performance from Nebraska. Although Georgetown got close at times, we were able to respond and never took our foot off the gas. Offensively, the Huskers did a great job, making baskets and responding when we needed to. Brice Williams let the Big Red with 28 total points. This was another great performance by him which will hopefully carry into the next game. Defensively, we did a good job, not allowing the Hoyas to get on big runs or take control of the game. Overall, I was very impressed by this performance and loved the team effort I saw out of this team tonight. Hopefully the Huskers can carry this momentum into our next game. Nebraska faces Boise State on Saturday. Tip off is set for 1230.
