Predicting The Outcome of Nebraska’s Bowl Game Against Boston College

The time has finally come!
Nebraska will take on Boston College on Saturday in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl. The game will take place on Saturday at the Yankees field at 11 AM on ABC. This will be the first ever meeting between these two schools. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m excited to see how it plays out. This preview is going to be a little different than my previous ones. Rather than giving an in-depth look at the offense and defense, I’m going to give some predictions, hopes and expectations for this game. Let’s get started.

First, I’m expecting the game to be a rainy one. The forecast is calling for rain and the temperature is supposed to be around 40°. I don’t think this will be much of a problem for Nebraska because we have played in plenty of rainy games before. It will be a little different, but I think we will be well prepared. I think it will be a rush heavy type of game. Our running backs should get a lot of work with the rain. I could see both teams using this to their advantage. There might be some passes here and there, but I don’t think there will be many.

As for the defense, Boston College runs the ball a lot and I believe this will continue on Saturday. The defensive line will need to hold up and tackle well. We need to prevent them from getting into the secondary and making big plays. This will also be new defensive coordinator John Butler’s first time calling the defense for Nebraska. I’m interested to see how he does and see what changes have been made. He runs a completely different type of defense than us fans were used to seeing all season, so I expect there to be a lot of changes. Hopefully we do a good job stopping the run and preventing explosive plays in the passing game.

Boston College is coming into this game with a record of 7-5 and Nebraska is sitting at 6-6. Although Boston College has the better record, Nebraska will surely put up a fight. The Huskers showed some promising signs throughout the season and I believe we have a good chance to win this one. After ending this season on a sour note against Iowa, the guys are hungry and ready to compete. The extra practices and time to prepare were very beneficial and will hopefully show on Saturday. Although we will be missing some players who opted out it should be a good game. if Nebraska can run the ball on offense and stop the run and explosive plays on defense, I think they have a good chance of winning this game. I predict Nebraska wins 31 to 17.
